Monochromatic work. I’m using Prussian Blue, (also known as Berlin blue, Brandenburg blue, Parisian, Paris blue and Crayola’s Midnight Blue) one of the most versatile and stable chromas. It’s been challenging for me to limit my palette to one color and believing in “Less is more”. There’s a dreamlike quality to this place that pulls me. Prussian Blue is an elegant hue. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking my time to reflect on its tonal complexity.
About the setting: somewhere in the small Japanese garden within the Bellevue Botanical Garden. I make these figures in clay then I paint them on the setting.
