A a color rendition of the iconic white boulder to which White Rock, BC, owes its name. The smaller white figure is also an interpretation of a sculpture located on the walkway along White Rock Beach, not far from the boulder. Backdrop landscape: Cathedral Rock, Sedona, AZ. Before visiting Sedona, my idea of spending time in Arizona was very narrow: flat vast desert. But once in the wilderness of Sedona, not too far up north from the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by the towering rocky formations that glow with iridescent hues of red throughout the day, I felt nothing but awe. Midnight-Blue Dreamscape
Monochromatic work. I’m using Prussian Blue, (also known as Berlin blue, Brandenburg blue, Parisian, Paris blue and Crayola’s Midnight Blue) one of the most versatile and stable chromas. It’s been challenging for me to limit my palette to one color and believing in “Less is more”. There’s a dreamlike quality to this place that pulls me. Prussian Blue is an elegant hue.
